the 1970s consist solely of words in a nondescript lettering painted on
walls.
Weiner explored the interaction of punctuation, shapes, and color to serve as inflections of meaning for his texts.

I Found this on CreativeReview and I thought it was quite interesting how the taxis were being used and decorated with type as they are something seen everywhere around cities. Its an unusual place and canvas for graphics to be seen, taxis are around basically every street and city and would be seen daily so it is actually a nice idea to decorate and display such graphics on them.
I found this hand writing type on Creative review which I thought was very nice and interesting and linked to street graphics and signs you sometimes find on the streets for advertisements and shops etc. I thought they were just really nice to look at and very attention grabbing. They were created by Fran Marchesi.
I found these magazine layouts by Ray gun which I thought were quite interesting to look at and kinda linked with the topic of text bombardment. I like the unusual why the magazines are more for the visual side then actually being read able. The text is quite hard to read and bombards the viewer yet you can still get the key subjects of what the pages are about. It links to the idea of text and type being everywhere we go. I also like the grungeness of it which is something id like to look at on the streets such as old signs or ripped posters.
I came across this street artist while looking into street graphics. He is an Italian artist who has worked with street art since 1999 and goes by the name of Blu. He is known for painting with house paint and using rollers mounted on top of telescopic sticks. This new solution allowed him to increase the painted surface area and convey a stronger intensity to his visual vocabulary. He also used huge human figures, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes dramatic, in his work alot.

The thing i like about some of Blus work is the way he visual tells stories through his graffiti stage by stage and by the use of over painting the image to add motion to it.He uses the spaces of the streets well.
Banksy is a graffiti artist originally from Bristol. His work is normally very social and politically based normally found on streets,walls and buildings throughout cities. I personally like the stencil technique used throughout his work and the way he combines humour into it all. I think its also very interesting and creative how he uses the surroundings to his advantage with the street graffiti.
